Treasurer’s Office Sends Out Mobile Home Tax Bills
Washington County Treasurer Natalie Lynch’s office sent out the 2021 Mobile Home Tax bill Monday, April 12. A total of 146 bills were sent out totaling $11,574.78.
The due date for the Mobile Home Tax is set for Wednesday. June 30. Failure to pay the bill will result in a penalty of $25 per month, not to exceed $100. Unpaid taxes will result in a lien being filed on the property.
Any resident responsible for payment who does not receive a bill should contact the treasurer’s office to obtain a copy. Failure to receive a bill does not relieve taxpayers from payment or late fees.
COVID-19 restrictions are currently in place at the treasurer’s office, which means in-person payment is limited to one taxpayer at a time. Anyone paying tax bills in person will be subject to COVID-19 safety procedures, which include mask wearing and temperature checks.
Residents are encouraged to use the drop box located outside the south entrance of the Washington County Courthouse on East St. Louis Street, or to mail the payment.
Forms of payment accepted are cash, check, cashier’s check or money order, but cash will not be accepted from the drop box or by mail. Those requiring a receipt for payment should include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
