New COVID Case Count Decreases, Vaccinations Up

COVID numbers keep moving in the right direction locally, with the number of cases falling while the vaccination rate increases.

Last week, a total of only four new cases were identified in the county, and only three cases are currently classified as active.

The new cases last week increased the total number of cases in Washington County to 1,620 since the start of the pandemic.

No new deaths or hospitalizations were reported. The county death toll remains at 29, while 66 people have suffered symptoms serious enough to require hospitalization.

Those totals are not the only bit of good news, as the number of Washington County residents receiving vaccines continues to climb.

Washington County Health Department Administrator Elizabeth Lehde announced that her department administered 422 doses of vaccine from March 20-27.
