Personnel Changes Top School Board Meeting Agenda
Personnel changes were a focus of the regular meeting of the West Washington County Unit District School Board meeting last Thursday. The board accepted the resignations of Christy Sweet and Heather Rudy and hired Tiffany Schmale as the new high school business teacher.
Sweet resigned to take a position has a principal at Bement Community Unit District 5 in central Illinois. Her 22 years in the district included her current assignment teaching second grade and serving as president of the teacher’s union, among other roles.
Rudy, a special education teacher at Okawville Junior Senior High School for 13 years, was hired as a teacher at Wesclin.
Tiffanie Schmale, who lives in Nashville and currently teaches at Waltonville High School, was hired as the new high school business teacher. She will take over for retiring teacher Carl Swift, an employee for about 20 years.
Search for New Principal Continues
In other personnel news, the search for the new principal has been narrowed from 19 candi- dates down to five.
