Junior High Volleyball Splits Two Matches
The Okawville Junior High Lady Rockets volleyball team defeated Lebanon on Thursday Feb 11 in two sets 25-17, 25-17.
Hailey Kolweier led the way with 11 digs and 14 points on serve, including four aces. Camryn Wiedwilt had three kills, four aces and three assists. Alyssa Statler had three kills. Bella Welch had four assists. Claire Dulle had seven points on serve, including four aces.
The seventh grade team also won against Lebanon 25-7, 25-18. Caroline Tepe had seven assists and two kills. Kate Borrenpohl had 16 points on serve, including ten aces. Jaelyn Going had 14 points on serve, including nine aces. Both Kayla Crouch and Emma Borgmann had two kills.
Okawville lost to Carlyle on Monday 25-21, 25-19.
Kolweier had 13 digs and four kills. Statler had 12 digs. Jenna Hackstadt had 10 digs.
The Lady Rockets now have a 2-2 record in this COVID and weather shortened season.
The seventh grade team defeated Carlyle 25-15, 25-19. Tepe had five assists, three kills, and nine points on serve. Carly Schmidt had three assists and three kills. Going had ten digs and eleven points on serve. Borgmann had three kills.
The seventh graders now have a 3-1 record.

The Junior Lady Rockets received a #2 seed in their Class M regional and will host the #3 seed Nashville on Monday March 1. The other teams in the regional are Breese (#1 seed) and Aviston (#4 seed).
