Junior High Volleyball Has First Game In Delayed Season
The Okawville Junior High girls volleyball season has begun – everyone is wearing masks, no crowds are allowed in the gym, and there is no season for the fifth and sixth grade, but the kids are finally getting to play.
The ten players on the eighth grade team are Sidney Charles, Laura Cook, Claire Dulle, Makenna Gabrovic, Jenna Hackstadt, Hailey Kolweier, Alyssa Statler, Lacy Vuichard, Camryn Wiedwilt, and Isabella Welch.
The 12 players on the seventh grade team are Emma Borgmann, KateLyn Borrenpohl, Abby Brennfleck, Kayla Crouch, Jaelyn Going, Payton Hankins, Lillian Helbig, Alexis Jarden, Carly Schmidt, Sydney Smallwood, Caroline Tepe, and Cella Wodocheck.
Debbie Frederking, Taylor Hesseldenz and Brian Frederking are the coaches.
Okawville Falls to Bartelso
The first match of the season was at Bartelso on Feb 4. The eighth graders, playing without three girls in quarantine, lost 25-9, 25-14.
