Okawville Legion Holds Public Forum for New Building
hand when the Okawville American Legion Post 233 hosted a public meeting to discuss the proposed new building last Wednesday.
Roger Wilfong of the Post’s building committee discussed the proposed building and answered questions from attendees.
According to Wilfong, the group is waiting on approval of the building plans from the village. Once the plans are approved, building permits will be issued and building can begin.
Wilfong also said that financing is in place and waiting for final approval. The amount of the loan is tentatively set at $340,000 with an interest rate of three percent for the first five years, after which the terms could be renegotiated.
