More COVID-Related Deaths in Washington County

More COVID-related deaths were reported in Washington County, and the total number of cases surged past 1,000 total cases among residents.

Three women in their 90s and a man in his 80s were reported as COVID-related deaths last week, upping the number of death to 12 among county residents. All four of the fatalities were in isolation due to positive COVID tests.

In addition to the deaths, another 103 tested positive for the virus since last Monday. That brings the county’s total case count to 1,083 since the start of the pandemic.

The Washington County Health Department is currently tracking 124 active cases, 42 of which are linked to outbreaks. Two of those cases have symptoms serious enough to require hospitalization, and 44 people have been hospitalized since March.

In the first 21 days of December, the county has seen an increase of 371 cases. That is one more than the total for the entire month of November.
