Softball Player Signs With Southeastern Illinois College
Since her early years playing OCYA softball, Shaye Sawicki’s goal was to play at the college level.
That dream became a reality when she signed with Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg last week.
The Okawville High senior said that she selected Southeastern because she will get a lot of playing time.
Sawicki plays third base and outfield. Her Okawville High freshmen and sophomore stats are a .320 batting average, 20 hits, 28 RBI’s, 25 runs, 1 home run and a .929 fielding percentage. (Her junior season was canceled due to COVID-19).
Sawicki also plays with a select team, the Midwest Menace, based in Collinsville. In 43 games with the Menace last year she had a .382 batting average, 28 RBI’s, .953 fielding percentage.
