Okawville School cafeteria cook Lisa Wilfong had an urgent message for the administration last week: “I need help!”
Wilfong was the only cafeteria worker to prepare meals for the K-12 school. One cafeteria worker is no longer employed and another had an injury.
Supt. Scott Fuhrhop and staff came in to help. “It’s a small school. You do what you have to do,” he said.
Aramark operates the cafeteria service and hires employees. Fuhrhop said that he would like to find local employees because if they care about the kids, they will be more likely to stay, he said.
The cafeteria position includes food preparation, serving, and clean-up. Anyone interested can contact Superintendent Fuhrhop or apply through the school’s website.
