Santa Arrives Friday For Okawville’s Home For The Holidays
Santa Claus will arrive in Okawville Friday, December 4 at 5 p.m. on the antique fire truck as part of the West Washington County Progress Initiative’s Home For The Holidays event.
Due to COVID, Santa will not have contact with children. However, photos can be taken from a safe distance as he sits on the Fire Truck at N. Hanover St., 5-8 p.m. Children can leave their letters with Santa.
The Old Exchange National Bank and First National Bank are sponsoring Santa’s appearance, as they will not be hosting Santa at the banks this year.
This will be Santa’s only appearance in town, as the Breakfast with Santa and other Christmas Stroll activities cannot be held this year.
A few members of the Venedy Band will play Christmas songs.
Porch Decorating Contest
Ballots and maps for the 56 homes in the Front Porch Decorating Contest can be picked up on N. Hanover St. There is no charge. Prizes will be awarded to the winners selected by those voting.
A SugarFire food truck with a variety of smoked meat and vendors selling cookies and other treats will be set up on N. Hanover St. Restaurants will be open.
Green’s Decorating and Annette’s Gifts and Flowers will be extend their regular hours to 8 p.m. Friday for the Home For The Holidays event.
