COVID Victim: “This Opened My Eyes”

Before he got COVID-19, Brian Jasper said that he thinks he was about like half the population. “I didn’t take it all that seriously,” he said.

But after he contracted the respiratory virus, all that changed. “It opened my eyes,” said the Okawville man.

Jasper said that he had symptoms including seven days of fever up to 104, extreme fatigue, headaches, body aches, chills, sore throat, loss of taste and smell senses, tightness in his chest, and cough.  These symptoms were so severe that he was concerned for his life.  “I wondered if I would live through it. I was scared to death,” he said.
