Karen K. Ross
Karen Ross of Okawville, IL departed this life in the Brightly Senior Living Center in Mascoutah, IL on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 1:48 P.M. She had attained the age of 70 years, 3 months, and 4 days.
Karen was born in Belleville, IL on August 23, 1950 the daughter of Hubert and Bernice (nee Weeke) Heberer. She was baptized and confirmed in the Olive Branch Lutheran Church in rural Okawville.
Karen was a 1968 graduate of Okawville High School. She worked as a computer analyst at Scott Air Force Base for 39 years until her retirement. She was a life-long and faithful member of the Olive Branch Lutheran Church in Okawville and was a former member of the Okawville American Legion Auxiliary. Karen was an avid music fan and especially loved Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry among many others. She also enjoyed traveling. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandsons.
Left to mourn her passing is her two daughters, Sarah Wilderman and husband A.J. of New Minden, IL, and Jenna Hunter of Okawville; two grandsons, Ethan Wilderman and Christian Hunter; many cousins and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from the Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. Due to Covid-19 health concerns, visitors should practice social distancing and the wearing of masks is encouraged.
A private funeral service will be held from the Olive Branch Lutheran Church in rural Okawville with Pastor Roger Drinnon officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The service will be available to be streamed from the Olive Branch Lutheran Church Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Olive Branch Lutheran Church and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
