Hilda Shubert
Mrs. Hilda Shubert of Lively Grove, IL departed this life in the extended care unit of the Washington County Hospital in Nashville, IL on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 1:15 A.M. She had attained the age of 91 years, 8 months, and 26 days.
Hildagard was born in Lively Grove Twp., Washington County, IL on February 1, 1929 the daughter of George and Anna (nee Greten) Hoff. She was united in marriage to Walter A. Shubert in the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Coulterville, IL on May 28, 1952 and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2002.
Mrs. Shubert was a homemaker and farm wife and raised her family on the farm in Lively Grove. She was a faithful member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lively Grove where she was an active member of the Ladies Sodality. Hildagard was an avid quilter, she enjoyed playing Bingo and going to auctions hoping to find a hidden treasure. Most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Hilda truly loved all her babies.
Left to mourn her passing are her seven children, Jane Gaebe and husband Ben III of Addieville, IL, Clyde Shubert and wife Joanne of Addieville, Lloyd Shubert and wife Cathy of Lively Grove, Sally Luechtefeld and husband Dan of St. Libory, IL, Doris Sauerhage and husband Gary of Mascoutah, IL, Nancy Ganz and husband Pat of Okawville, IL, and Alvin Shubert of Lively Grove; 12 grandchildren, Lisa Clark and husband Steve II, Nick Gaebe, Lucas Shubert, Adam Shubert and wife Laura, Joel Shubert and wife Ashley, Meagan Biggerstaff and husband Jeremy, Evan Shubert and wife Crystal, Jason Luechtefeld and wife Chelsea, Erin Becker and husband Adam, Courtney Sprehe and husband Tyler, Amber Rednour and husband Tyler, and Shane Ganz; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Luechtefeld; three brothers, Herbert, Clarence, and Albert Hoff; two sisters, Marie Waller and husband George and Agnes Weber and husband Herb; two brothers-in-law, Albert Galle and Robert Shubert; and a son-in-law, Chris Rogers.
Due to Covid-19 health concerns, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lively Grove on Friday, October 30, 2020 with Fr. Dennis Voss officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery or to Family Hospice and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
