Village Board Sets Trick Or Treating Date, New Board Member Sworn In

Stacy Friedrich was appointed to the Okawville Village Board, which also approved trick-or-treating during the regular meeting Monday.

Friedrich was sworn in as a new member of the board, a replacement for Brian Nelson, who moved out of town. Her term will expire April 30, 2021.

Halloween trick-or-treating will be held Saturday, October 31 from 6 – 8 p.m. for children aged 12 and under.

Police Committee Chairperson Sarah Deterding reminded residents that participation is always optional, and that is especially true this year during the pandemic.

“If residents don’t feel comfortable for whatever reason, please do not feel obligated to participate,” Deterding said.
