County Approaching 200th Positive COVID Test

Positive cases continue to climb as the county’s case count, currently 194, approaches 200. That includes 75 new cases since September 1.

As of Monday, the county has 25 active cases among residents, and that includes two people who have been hospitalized. A total of ten residents have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and one person from the county died due to complications related to COVID-19.

Region 4 Trending in the Right Direction

According to Illinois Department of Public Health metrics, Region 4 is trending in the right direction. The positivity rate hit eight percent on September 15, the first time the rate had come at the IDPH threshold in more than a month. The positivity rate was under eight percent last Thursday an Friday.
