Geraldine “Gerry” A. Boeschen

Mrs. Geraldine “Gerry” A. Boeschen of Waterloo, IL, formerly of Nashville, IL departed this life at Cedarhurst of Waterloo in Waterloo, IL on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 3:48 PM. She had attained the age of 94 years, 9 months and 29 days.

Gerry was born on November 15, 1925 at Nashville, IL, the daughter of Oscar and Johanna (Heberer) Kirchhoefer. She was united in marriage to Ralph Boeschen on June 24, 1950 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville, IL and he preceded her in death on July 6, 2008.

Gerry worked as a bookkeeper for Washington County Service Company until 1952. She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville, IL where she was involved with the Dorcas Circle, Chancel Choir and Sunday School. Gerry was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Washington County Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and served on the Washington County Hospital Board. Gerry enjoyed volunteering and helping others, which led her to be honored as the 2008 Nashville Citizen of the Year. She loved bowling, playing the piano, golfing, attending St. Louis Cardinals ballgames, singing in the choir and traveling.

Left to mourn her passing is her son Dean Boeschen and wife Maureen of St. Louis, MO; two daughters, Karen Boeschen of Belleville, IL and Sharen Guthrie and husband Bill of Smithton, IL; two grandchildren, Hayley and Alec Boeschen; brother, Merrill Kirchhoefer of Waterloo, IL; sister-in-law, Shirley Boeschen of Belleville, IL; two nieces, Cindi Cramer and her husband Glen and Laurie Kissel; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers-in-law, Vernon Boeschen and Leslie Boeschen and his wife Hazel and sister-in-law, Marilyn Kirchhoefer 

A private funeral service will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Saturday, September 19, 2020 with Rev. Beverly Kahle officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul United Church of Christ cemetery. There will be no public services. 

Should friends desire, memorials can be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ Cemetery Fund and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
