Lady Rocket Golfers Tee Off

The Okawville Lady Rockets opened their season at home last week before competing at the Belleville-West Tournament  Friday.

The Lady Rockets hosted Mascoutah last Thursday, and Okawville fell short of the Lady Indians by nine strokes with a team score of 191.

Chloe Kraus carded the Lady Rockets’ low round with a 38, only two shots off the pace set by Mascoutah’s Sophia Florek, the medalist for the event.

Katelyn Alvis shot 49, Taylor Hettenhausen finished with a 51, and Amy Koch shot 53.

Also competing were Avery Killion (55), Erin Nilles (57), Macie Staley (51) and Paige Riechmann (57).

Okawville finished eight out of 13 teams at Friday’s 18-hole tournament at The Orchards.

Kraus had the Lady Rockets’ low round again, this time shooting an 83 to finish ninth overall as an individual.

Koch shot 101, Alvis carded a 114, and Hettenhausen finished at 115 to round out the team score of 413.

Nilles (117) and Killion (127) were also on the links for Okawville.
