Seven more Washington County residents tested positive for the coronavirus in the last week, marking the sixth straight week in which the number of cases increased.
Last week, two women in their 20s, one woman in her 30s and a man in his 40s all tested positive for the virus. All were exposed through community spread or at individual workplaces.
Over the weekend, the Washington County Health Department was notified of another four lab-confirmed cases: a woman in her 40s, a man in his 20s, another man in his 50s, and a third man in his 60s who WCHD is attempting to contact.
In addition to the new positive cases that were identified, one of the cases reported previously was admitted to the hospital with complications of COVID. The hospitalized person is in stable condition.
COVID cases have increased dramatically over the last six weeks in the county. As of July 8, only 24 cases had been positively identified. That total is now 67.
