No Independence Day Fireworks in Okawville; Nashville Is On

Oakley Services announced that the annual fireworks display in Okawville has been cancelled this year due to concerns with the coronavirus pandemic.

In past years, the public could view the Oakley Services display near Roland Barkau Memorial Golf Course, but this year’s event will not be held.

Nashville will host its annual fireworks display. Organizers encourage attendees to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

“We have approval from the Nashville City Council, so we’ll be going ahead at the usual time and place,” said Steve Haertling.

Organized by the Nashville Fire Protection District with help from the Nashville Lions Club, the Nashville event will be Saturday, July 4 around dusk near the pond at Memorial Park.

Donations will be collected prior to the start of the show.
