School Board Discusses New Grading Scale

A new grading scale and an invitation for Okawville High School to join the Cahokia Conference took up the bulk of the discussion at the West Washington County Unit District School Board meeting Thursday.

The board heard a first reading of a proposed change to the student handbook that would institute a ten-point grading scale for the coming school year.

Over the last several months, parents, board members and faculty have discussed moving away from the current grading scale to a ten-point scale to align with other schools in the area.

Full details in this week’s issue.
