The Washington County Pony Leage announced that the 2020 T-ball, baseball and softball seasons will be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
League president Kristin Storey released a statement that announced the cancellation earlier this week.
“We tried to hold out as long as possible due to the ever-changing guidelines, but at this time we have decided it’s best to not have a season,” she said in the statement.
Refunds of registration fees will be done Monday, June 8 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Memorial Park in Nashville for anyone who paid cash or wants their check back.
Any checks not picked up June 8 will shredded.

Pool Waiting For Phase 4
The Memorial Park Board in Nashville will not open the pool for another four weeks at the earliest.
Though Washington County recently moved into Phase 3 of Governor J. B. Pritzker’s Restore Illinois Plan, the pool will not be opened until Phase 4 has been reached. The projected date for advancing to that stage is June 26.
With those guidelines in place, the Nashville Blue Racer Swim Team is planning a shortened season. Details will follow as developments dictate.
Kimberly Kuhlengel-Jones said that anyone who has sent in registration fees who is not interested in competing in a shortened season can contact her to receive a refund. All other checks will be held.
