Virtual Graduation for OHS Class of 2020

Senior class president Lindsey Averbeck and vice-president Marlee Frederking were undeterred by the pandemic when it came to the senior class prank.
Okawville High School’s Class of 2020 has already missed out on the last two months of its high school career, as well as the requisite life experiences, but living through a singular moment of history will create a unique set of memories.
Though a traditional graduation ceremony is not in the cards due to pandemic restrictions, seniors will still have a chance to share the moment with family and friends.
“We definitely wanted to do something for graduates because they’ve already missed out on a big part of their senior year,” Okawville principal Keith Senior said.
With that in mind, Senior, school staff and senior class officers have put together a virtual graduation ceremony to be streamed live on Sunday, May 24.
The event will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube and will feature video clips of students walking across the stage to accept their diplomas.
