Person of Interest in Ashley Homicide Held in Missouri

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office announced that a person of interest in the David Woodrome homicide is being held in Missouri.

Sheriff Len Campbell said that the person of interest is being held without bond in the Scott County Jail on charges unrelated to the homicide in Ashley in February.

The 31-year-old male was arrested in Missouri on charges of assault in the first degree and armed criminal action related to events in Reynolds County, Missouri, earlier this month.

According to Campbell, a multi-state, multi-agency investigation has gathered information to connect the man as a person of interest in Woodrome’s murder.

Woodrome, 71, was found dead inside the door to his residence 326 East White Street in Ashley. His body was found after he was not seen for several days at a local business he frequented. An autopsy determined that his death was the result of a homicide.

Campbell said that his office is working with multiple law enforcement agencies, including those in Missouri, as the homicide investigation continues.
