Ernest S. Kozuszek
Mr. Ernest S. Kozuszek of Nashville, IL., departed this life at Friendship Manor Healthcare Center in Nashville, on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 8PM. He had attained the age of 88 years and 22 days.
Mr. Kozuszek was born on February 26, 1932 in Posen, IL the son of Casmier and Nellie (Malawy) Kozuszek.
Ernest was a lifelong farmer. He worked for Schmale Bulk Milk Service for over 10 years and also worked as a truckdriver and mechanic at W.C. Nierman. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen, IL and was a founding member of Illinois Tractor Pulling Association that was founded in 1968. Ernest pulled tractors at the local fairs from 1952 to 1980 and was best known for pulling his IH 1206 all over Southern Illinois region, winning many first places. HErnest enjoyed tinkering on old tractors and machinery especially International Harvester Equipment.
Survivng his passing is his brothers and sisters, Harry Kozuszek and wife Florence, Evelyn Vetz, Gene Kozuszek, Leonard Conway, Ted Conway, Joe Kozuszek and wife Delores; Delores Bargiel, Leona Litzau and husband Rick, Joann Muenks and husband Pat, Clarence Kozuszek, Fred Kozuszek and wife Tracy and David Kozuszek and wife Mary; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Emily; brother, George Conway and brothers-in-law, Gene Vetz and Ed Bargiel.
Due to the COVID-19 health concerns, a private graveside service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Posen, IL. There will be a memorial mass held at a later date.
Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials can be made to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
