Okawville Polling Place Changed

Polling for Okawville Precinct 1 will now be held at the Okawville Community Club, starting with the March 17 primary. It was formerly held at the Okawville Township Building.

County Clerk Nancy Heseman said that the move was made because the Community Club better accommodates handicap voting.

The larger space will also accommodate more voting booths, so there will be less waiting.

Also, if a line forms, people will no longer have to stand outside.

The County Clerks Office will pay the Community Club $50 for the use of its building, as it does for all places for polling.
