Foster First OHS Grad To Earn Volleyball Scholarship
The Okawville High volleyball program has hit a benchmark of having its first player to receive a scholarship.
Grace Foster received an athletic scholarship to play volleyball with the Missouri Baptist University Spartans in Creve Coeur, Missouri.
She will play with the junior varsity team and serve as the manager for the varsity team.
Foster got her start playing volleyball in the fourth grade at Immanuel Lutheran. Immanuel combines with Trinity St. John’s of Nashville for the Titan’s team.
The Okawville High varsity program started in 2015, after advancing the program through Junior High and High School Junior Varsity.
Missouri Baptist, with enrollment of 5,600, plays in the NAIA American Midwest League.
The schedule includes Central Methodist University of Fayette, Missouri, University of Mobile, Keiser University, Missouri Valley College, Lincoln College of Lincoln, Il., William Woods University of Fulton, Mo., Hannibal-Lagrange University, and St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
The varsity team finished the season with a 34-7 record, and 11-l in the conference.
Foster, a 2020 Okawville High graduate, will pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education.
She is the daughter of John and Michelle Foster of rural Addieville.
