Busy Time For Hoops; Okawville Tourney This Week

The Okawville Rockets returned home last Tuesday night to take on the Waltonville Spartans and posted a 65-32 win. The Rockets hit the road on Friday to pick up a 47-45 win over a very good Woodlawn Cardinals team. Both teams have aspirations of a long postseason run and this game could be a preview of later. Full game details in this week’s issue. 

The Rockets are now 12-5 on season and will host the Okawville Invitational this week.

Lady Rockets

It was a busy week for the Okawville Lady Rockets, and they started it off with a win over Greenville last Monday.

Okawville’s only loss last week came at the hands of a tough Highland squad 58-39 at the Highland Tournament Saturday night.

The Lady Rockets fell behind early, and the Bulldogs steadily built up a commanding lead that knocked Okawville into the consolation bracket in the tournament.

Tebbe finished with 13 points to pace the Lady Rockets, and Schleifer finished in double figures with 11. Rennegarbe had eight points, Rhodes had four, Foster added two and Luechtefeld chipped in one point in the loss.

Okawville faced Hillsboro Tuesday night in the consolation bracket. With a win, the Lady Rockets will play again Wednesday. Games continue Thursday before final round games on Saturday.
