Roxana 41, Okawville 49
Last Tuesday night the Okawville Rockets traveled to play a good Roxana Shells team. This was the boys’ first contest of the new year and first game off of the break. The Shells were able to get within a possession but the Rockets made just enough plays down the stretch to hold on for the 49-41 road victory.
Nashville 47, Okawville 43
Saturday night the Rockets hit the road yet again to take on county rival and state ranked Nashville.
The game was nip and tuck throughout. Each possession could make the difference.
Okawville trailed by two heading to the fourth quarter where they began to really play some tight defense and get some timely buckets. The Rockets held the lead in the final minute and took a three-point lead with 15 seconds to play when Nashville’s Terry Pelczysnki made a very tough shot to tie the game at 38.
The Rockets had one last chance at the end but fell short and to overtime we went.
Nashville began the overtime by hitting a three-pointer and never looked back, winning 47-43.

The Rockets are now 9-5 with home game against Waltonville on Tuesday and a very tough road game Friday night at Woodlawn. The Cardinals are one of the top teams in the state and the Rockets will be looking to avenge an earlier defeat.
