Okawville Beats Steeleville 46-36; Lady Rockets Upended at Pinckneyville

The Okawville Rockets returned to action on Friday night against a good Steeleville team. Both teams started slowly offensively in the first half.

Okawville trailed by three heading into the final period when they began to gain some momentum on offense. The Rockets began to get the inside/outside game going and hit some big shots down the stretch while continuing to play some tough defense.

The Rockets would scored 21 points in the final quarter to win 46-36.

Lady Rockets

The Okawville Lady Rockets were unable to hold a lead in Okawville’s 42-34 loss at Pinckneyville on Saturday.

Despite building an early, Okawville fell behind when the Lady Panthers put together a 15-2 run in the third quarter to erase the deficit and pull ahead.

Okawville opened play in the Mascoutah Holiday Tournament Monday night against Belleville-West. The Lady Rockets will play at 10 a.m. Friday, either in the main gym with a win or the auxiliary gym with a loss.
