No To All Phases Of Marijuana Business

The opportunity for economic development through marijuana-related businesses went up in smoke, if the Washington County Zoning Board Of Appeals vote stands.

At a meeting last week the Zoning board unanimously voted not to allow any of the six marijuana business opportunities that will be legal January 1, 2020 when recreational marijuana becomes legal in Illinois.

That was counter to the recommendation of the Zoning Committee of the County Board, which proposed the Zoning Board approve the two phases that deal with the agriculture aspect.
