The annual Country Christmas Stroll and House Tours hosted by the Okawville Chamber of Commerce and the Heritage House Museum Association will take place on Saturday and Sunday, December 7th and 8th.
The house tours begin at noon both days and go until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Three homes and two churches will be featured this year for the event that benefits the Heritage House Museum.
House Tour tickets can be purchased at the Community Club Hospitality table or at the Schlosser House Museum.
A “Breakfast with Santa” will be hosted at the Original Springs Hotel Saturday, starting at 9 a.m.. Children eat free – compliments of the Okawville Lion’s club. Make reservations (618-243-5694 – leave a message with name and phone number).
The three Heritage House Museums will be open from 11 to 5 Saturday and noon to 4 Sunday. They were decorated by Donna Davis, Susan Gyorkos and Audrey Ostendorf. The Busy Bees 4-H decorated the fences.
Community Club Activities
Along with these activities, a Craft Fair featuring quality handcrafted items and the Festival of Trees will be held in the Community Club building.
The theme of the Festival of Trees is “Movies”, with about 25 decorated trees. Kids as well as adults love this creative holiday tradition. The cost is $2.00, with young children free.
Other shopping and food events will also be taking place at Immanuel Lutheran School and St. Barbara’s Parish Hall.
