Emge Earns Award for Work in Battle Against Substance Abuse

Illinois’ leading behavioral health advocacy group bestowed one of its annual awards this week on Washington County Circuit Court Judge Daniel Emge.

The prestigious “Lawrence Goodman Friend of the Field Award” was given to Emge by the Illinois Association for Behavioral Health (IABH) Monday, recognizing his “leadership” on the creation of a drug court in Washington County. He runs drug court two days per week, one in Washington and one in Perry County.

“Judge Emge led the effort to create a drug court in Illinois’ 20th Judicial District that started serving individuals in 2018,” said IABH CEO Sara Howe.
