Former Big Leaguers Forming Sports Academy in Centralia

Kirk Rueter threw his last pitch for the San Francisco Giants in 2005. Since then, the Hoyleton native has watched his daughters’ sports and largely stayed out of the baseball business.

That is until now.

Rueter will be one of the former big leaguers providing lessons at the new Gary Gaetti Sports Center in Centralia.

“After I retired, I never really got into giving lessons,” Rueter said. “I wanted to follow my daughters and watch their sports instead of getting back into baseball.”
