Cook Punches Ticket to State Meet

Okawville Lady Rockets harrier Megan Cook advanced to the IHSA State Meet with a strong individual finish at the Benton Sectional Saturday.

Cook finished 21st overall with a time of 19:18. That was good enough to earn her a spot in this weekend’s 1A State Meet at Detweiller Park in Peoria on Nov. 9.

Though Cook was the lone Okawville runner to advance, both the Rockets and Lady Rockets competed after both teams had strong finishes at the New Athens Regional.
