County’s Low Unemployment Leads To Openings Staying Vacant
Washington County’s 2.3 percent unemployment rate is a good economic indicator for the area. But fewer people out of work also means that often businesses can’t find people to fill open positions.
Country Mart manager Brian Rusiewski has noticed many “help wanted” signs in Nashville that he wonders if businesses should join forces and host a job fair.
He has tried various forms of advertising – newspapers, sign on door, and social media – with little luck. “There just aren’t enough people looking for jobs,” Rusiewski said.
