Louis A. Hemminghaus

Mr. Louis A. Hemminghaus of Nashville, IL departed this life at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 5:20 PM. He had attained the age of 81 years, 5 months and 6 days.

Mr. Hemminghaus was born on April 15, 1938 at Nashville, IL, the son of G. W. and Agnes (Foster) Hemminghaus. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Tubbs on September 20, 1964 at North Prairie Methodist Church in rural Nashville and she survives his passing.

Louis worked as a tax collector for the Illinois Department of Revenue for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville, IL, where he served on the church council and as an usher. He was also a member of the Washington Lodge #55 AF & AM. Louis loved his grandchildren and enjoyed going and watching sporting events.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife Marilyn Hemminghaus of Nashville, IL; two sons, Greg Hemminghaus and wife Dena of Wildwood, MO and Brent Hemminghaus and wife Lynn of Columbia, IL; four grandchildren, Trey, Riley, Brady and Connor; two sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George Hemminghaus and a sister, Suzanne Hemminghaus. 

Per the wishes of Louis and his family, cremation was performed and a memorial service will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville, IL on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 11 AM with Rev. Beverly Kahle officiating. Interment of ashes will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville on Thursday from 10 AM until the service hour.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
