Okawville Anglers Compete at Rend Lake

Okawville’s bass fishing team competed in the Mt. Vernon Invitational Bass Tournament at Rend lake on September 5.

Though the weather was beautiful, fishing was slow due in part to the lake’s relatively low water level and a cool front that moved in the night before the event.

Despite the unfavorable fishing conditions, the Rocket anglers acquitted themselves well. Ethan Kolweier and Mason Meier finished 9th and Cole Klasing and Kole Jackson finishes 12th out of 24 boats that competed.

Rusty Kolweier and Albert Klasing served as boat captains for Okawville’s two teams.
