Last Thursday the Okawville Lady Rockets traveled to Nashville for the annual Nashville Invitational Tournament and turned in a team score of 210.
Chloe Kraus earned an individual medal with her round of 41, which included one birdie, two pars, and six bogies.
Other individual scores were Katelyn Alvis (53), Amy Koch (54), and Avery Killion (62). Also participating in the tournament were sophomore Erin Nilles with a 67 and freshman Macie Staley with a 66.
The following day, Okawville traveled to The Orchards for the Belleville West Tournament. Despite facing difficult course conditions, the Lady Rockets split the field, shooting a team score of 422.
Scores contributing to the team were Kraus (86), Koch (103), Alvis (106), and Nilles (127). Also playing in the tournament was Killion with a round of 132.
Kraus continued to bring in the hardware with a 6th overall individualist medal, carding two birdies for the day.
The Okawville girls will continue match play this week in Nashville and Breese respectively, before hitting RBM course for their first home outing of the season. On Saturday, August 30, the girls will play in the Okawville Invitational Tournament hosted by the Okawville Golf Programs.
The Okawville Rockets golf team took on host Steeleville at Pyramid Oaks Golf Course last Thursday.
Okawville finished third in the three-team meet with a team score of 203. Steeleville won it with a team score of 196, while Marissa took second with a score of 198.
Jackson Heckert turned in the Rockets’ lowest score with a 48. Dustin Teter shot 50, Carson Wiese finished with a 52, and Brock Fuhrhop rounded out Okawville’s top four by carding a 53.
Okawville is scheduled to travel to Sparta Thursday before returning home to host Red Bud Friday. The Okawville Invitational is Saturday, and the Rockets will be in Nashville next Wednesday.
