Mr. Harold Spinnie of Stone Church, IL departed this life in the Aperion Care Center in Mascoutah, IL on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 6:40 A.M. He had attained the age of 71 years, 11 months and 17 days.
Harold was born in Sparta, IL on June 19, 1947 the son of Walter and Opal (nee Bird) Spinnie. He was united in marriage to Carol Schuetz in Belleville, IL on May 1, 1973 and she preceded him in death on September 26, 2013.
Mr. Spinnie works as a pre-painter at Wiegmann’s in Freeburg until his retirement in 2004. He was a member of the St. Peter United Church of Christ in Stone Church. He enjoyed fishing, working on his trucks and watching NASCAR races, but especially loved spending time with his family.
Left to mourn his passing are his three children, Becka Heitman of Addieville, IL, Shirley Spinnie of Stone Church, and Harold D. Spinnie and wife Jill of O’Fallon, IL; four grandchildren, Crystal Rohlfing, Melanie Spinnie, Angel Rohlfing, and Kaitlyn Spinnie; other relatives and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Spinnie; a grandson, Robert Louveau; and a son-in-law, Sean Heitman.
In accordance with the wishes of Harold and his family, cremation was performed.
A memorial service will be held from the Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville, IL on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 7 P.M. with Pastor Cherie Stolze officiating. Private interment of ashes will be in the St. Peter United Church of Christ Cemetery in Stone Church at a later date.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville on Tuesday from 5 P.M. until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family of Harold Spinnie or to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
