Two Lady Rockets Advance to State Meet
Senior Abby Riechmann and junior Megan Cook both had great performances to ensure their advancement onto the state track meet which will be held at Eastern Illinois University this weekend.
Cook took first place in the discus competition with a throw of 111’6”.
Riechmann finished second place overall in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 13:24.The first two places along with those who reach preset state qualifying times and distances are eligible to advance.
Both Cook and Riechmann competed in the state track meet last season as well.
Okawville’s 4×100-meter relay team took 5th overall. The team is made up of seniors Amber Johnston and Madison Powell, junior Megan Cook and freshman Cindy Snyder.
Cook also took 5th in the 400 meter event with a time of 1:04.
