Nashville Grad Named MVC Coach of the Year

Danielle Kaufman, a 2003 graduate of Nashville High School, was named the Missouri Valley Coach of the Year after leading the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Salukis to the MVC Championship last month.
Kaufman was hired as the Salukis golf coach in June of 2018 after coaching at Nashville and at Rend Lake College.
Her golf career started at Nashville, where she finished 17th at the IHSA State Meet her senior year. She went on to play at both Rend Lake College and SIU before going into coaching.
As a player, at Rend Lake Kaufman was the 2004 Region 24 medalist at Rend Lake College, was the 2003 Southern Illinois co-Golfer of the Year and set a Rend Lake Golf Course record with a 68 in 2003.
She went on to play golf at SIU under coach Diane Daugherty.
As a coach at Rend Lake, Kaufman led the women’s golf program to a top-15 finish at the NJCAA National Tournament in 2018. She was the NJCAA Region 24 Coach of the Year.
