Mr. Rhody Campbell of St. Louis, MO departed this life in the Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 2:11 P.M. He had attained the age of 81 years, 10 months and 10 days.
Rhody was born in Buena Vista, PA on May 30, 1937 the son of Charles and Margaret (nee Keen) Campbell. He was united in marriage to Betty Ostendorf in the Zion United Church of Christ in Addieville, IL on September 27, 1959 and she preceded him in death on August 11, 2013.
Mr. Campbell served in the United States Air Force from June of 1955 until January of 1959 when he received an Honorable Disharge. He earned his Associates Degree from Frontier College in Fairfield, IL. Rhody was an engineer with Emerson Electric in St. Louis until his retirement, and was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in St. Louis. He enjoyed woodworking and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Left to mourn his passing is his three children, Cindy Crouch of St. Louis, Randy Campbell (Alex) of New York, NY and Tony Campbell (Jennifer) of Dennison, IL; three grandchildren, Colton Crouch of St. Louis and Matthew and Emily Campbell of Dennison; a brother, Herb Campbell (Marlene) of McKinney, TX; other relation and many friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Chuck Campbell; and a sister, Dorothy Landini.
In accordance with the wishes of Rhody and his family, cremation was performed.
Memorial services will be held from the Zion United Church of Christ in Addieville on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Bill Groennert officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Zion United Church of Christ and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is in charge of the arrangements.
