Historical Society To Honor WWII Veterans At Annual Banquet
The Washington County Historical Society is hosting a D-Day 75th Anniversary celebration April 27 to honor county WWII veterans.
The society is now collecting names, rank, and military branches of county people who served to post at this event as part of the military display. Please submit that information to the WCHS P.O. Box 9, Nashville, Il. 62263.
The speaker will be Dave Scott, speaking about D-Day from the German perspective. The retired police officer who served in the military does WWII reenactments.
The dinner will be held at 6 p.m. the American Legion in Nashville. Tickets can be purchased for $15 at the Nashville News, WCHS museum or train depot on Saturdays from 1-4 or form members Elaine, 327-8075, Cathy 977-2252, or Don 327-8465.
