Okawville Man Arrested on Felony Grooming Charges

An Okawville man is facing three felony charges relating to sexual solicitation of a minor after being arrested last week by the Okawville Police Department.

Shawn M. Lindsay, 33, was charged with three Class 4 felonies relating to communications with what he believed to be a minor earlier this month.

Lindsay was charged with unlawful grooming, indecent solicitation of a child, and solicitation to meet a child for an unlawful purpose.

The charges and Lindsay’s arrest were made public on social media by a group calling itself KTS Pred Hunters. A Facebook post from March 27 indicates Lindsay was arrested in part due to the group’s efforts.

According to State’s Attorney Dan Bronke, Lindsay is alleged to have discussed meeting with a 14-year-old girl at a hotel to engage in sexual activities. He is alleged to have talked with the girl about her age prior to the alleged planned meeting.
