Washington County was recently named among most financially healthy places in Illinois by a New York financial technology company.
SmartAsset performed a study which analyzed debt, bankruptcy, poverty and unemployment in counties across the country to find where residents were most financially healthy. Washington County was ranked among the top places in Illinois.
A financially healthy county means residents have low average debt as a percent of income, along with a low chance of being affected by personal bankruptcies, poverty or unemployment.
