Curtis R. Kuhlengel

Mr. Curtis R. Kuhlengel of Hoyleton, IL, departed this life at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, IL on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 4:48 PM.  He had attained the age of 76 years and 17 days.

Curt was born on November 24, 1942 in Centralia, IL, the son of Rufus and Flora (nee Schrieber) Kuhlengel.

Curt served with the United States Army.  He owned and operated the Hoyleton Feed Store in Hoyleton, IL for 50 years and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, IL.  Curt was also a longtime member of the Nashville Jaycees, Hoyleton Lions Club, Hoyleton Community Club and Hoyleton Fire Department Board, where he served as treasurer.  Curt enjoyed golfing and he loved attending and participating in the Covington fishing derby.

Left to mourn his passing is his special friend, Diana Emrick of Richview, IL; four brothers and sisters, Dennis Kuhlengel and wife Jean of Okawville, IL, Lois Ellerbusch and husband Alan of Mt. Vernon, IL, and Larry Kuhlengel and wife Cindy of Okawville, IL and Linda Baldwin and husband Mark of Nashville, IL; 11 nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Kuhlengel.

Funeral services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, IL on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11 AM with Rev. Nathan Wollenberg officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, IL on Friday from 5 PM until 8 PM and on Saturday from 8 AM until the service hour.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home of Nashville, IL, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
