Schmitt Signs with Rend Lake

Okawville senior Kymberly Schmitt will hit the hardwood for Rend Lake College following graduation.
The 6-foot-2 center has been a big contributor for the Lady Rockets despite battling some injuries.
“She has been hampered by a shoulder that has been dislocating each season of her high school career, forcing her to miss games here and there during her seasons,” coach Michelle Hasheider-Burianek said.
Schmitt had shoulder surgery over the summer, and Hasheider-Burianek said she has been healthy since being released to play this fall.
“Kym has really stepped up and become a team leader for us this year, and I think that she will continue to improve and get stronger as the season progresses and then as she goes into college,” said Hasheider-Burianek.
