Mr. Richard S. Mamell, age 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Ashley, IL surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 2:30 AM.

Richard was born July 27, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Oscar and Rose (Szopinski) Mamell. He was united in marriage to Diane (Nikrant) Mamell on November 14, 1964 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Chicago, IL.
Richard retired from General Tire after 30+ years and devoted his time to providing for and raising his family. He loved watching Western Movies and the Chicago Cubs and he enjoyed listening to Elvis.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diane (Nikrant) Mamell of Ashley, IL, nine children, Cynthia Steward and husband, Mike of Orchardville, IL; Brenda Fieber and husband, Michael of Nashville, IL; Donna Walters and husband, David of Mt. Vernon, IL; Laura Everson and husband, Vince of Olympia Fields, IL; Rebecca Askew and husband, Aaron of Mt. Vernon, IL; Jesse Mamell and special friend Angela Peters of Cape Girardeau, MO; Jacob Mamell and fiancée, Jessica Garrison of Ashley, IL; Gannon Mamell of Ft. Bragg, NC and Kijuana Mamell of Ashley, IL, 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his two beautiful daughters, Deborah and Linda; parents Oscar and Rose; and sister, Jeanette.
Funeral services will be held at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, IL on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 10 AM. Following the service, cremation will be performed and burial of Ashes in the St. Michael Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Ashley, IL on Thursday from 5 PM until 8 PM and on Friday from 7:30 AM until 9 AM.
Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials may be made to the St. Michael Cemetery or to a charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
